Pregnancy

Prenatal Care.
My offering in Pregnancy centers on traditional prenatal care. It is hands on and women centred. Rather than looking for what might be going "wrong" as appointments in the medical system often do, I am exploring with you what your Pregnancy landscape looks and feels like. In addition to holding you through the highs and lows of pregnancy I assist with planning and preparation for Birth and Postpartum.
Here are some examples of ways I may show up for you and your family in our Prenatal visits. I have grouped the topics based on where they may show up in pregnancy but please remember these are just suggestions and our sessions are guided by the highest need that is arising in that moment. Each family is unique.
In first trimester: (rest and digest - nourishment and practical support)
- Practical support with morning sickness or HG
- Support around the home so you can rest
- Emotional support with feelings regarding your pregnancy and changes related to it
- Information directory ~ oppurtunity to borrow resources from my library
- Information redirectory ~ connecting you to other care providers or support networks where needed (e.g. acupuncture, naturopathy, pregnancy groups)
In second trimester: (energy - planning - expanding)
- Pregnancy massage
- Feeling where baby is and listening to baby
- Preparation for baby wearing, infant care, elimination communication, co-sleeping and breastfeeding or other topics of your own interest
- Fostering connection to Baby through rituals
- Laying down a Birth plan and consolidating a Birth team
- Exploring your own Birth imprint and your Red Thread stories related to Menarche, Birth and Motherhood
In third trimester: (preparation - releasing - inviting in)
- Sibling education and involvement in pregnancy as Birth approaches
- Creating a Postpartum plan and calling in your Village
- Rituals to call in and strengthen Birth field
- Exploring your relationship to pain and fears coming up
If I am also your Birthkeeper sessions will include familiarising myself with the chosen Birth environment and the other members of the Birth team including your partner and older children.
A Prenatal session unfolds over 2-3 hours and cost $100 (travel costs may apply).
See my pricing list for more information.
I offer a no obligation meeting free of charge. This is an oppurtunity for us to meet one another face to face and to feel whether we are a match.
Mother Blessing

A Mother Blessing is a ceremony in which the Wombfull expectant Mother is honoured in her journey to Motherhood no matter if it is her first or seventh Pregnancy.
A Mother Blessing can be an alternative to a "baby shower" where the focus is on the Baby and revolves around presents and games.
A ceremony is instead centered on the Mother and the developing Mother-Baby dyad. Rather than presents for the Baby the attendees gift the Mother with their wisdom, presence and openess to hold and honour her. Sometimes small presents will be brought upon request.
Each Blessing is uniquely planned around you, your wishes, your family/community and your culture/heritage. Various elements and ideas can be integrated including:
~ Painting the Mothers belly
~ Massages and foot bath for the Mother
~ Creating a Birth candle
~ Red Thread Ritual to connect all the Women in your circle
~ Belly casting
~ Storytelling and wisdom sharing
~ Crafting special items for the Birth Altar
~ Singing songs and dancing
An element of the ceremony is also gathering your Village for Postpartum. By coming together and conciously honouring the Pregnancy as a special time, the women in your life begin weaving a readiness to be the Villager and show up for you.
This is a crucial component of preparation for Postpartum. Some women may choose to use this gathering as an oppurtunity to do a post-ceremony Postpartum cook up with her Villagers.
We meet once before the Blessing for a planning meeting (approx. 1 hour).
The Blessing itself unfolds over 2-3 hours.
The price for the Blessing is $400 ($250 when booked in combination with Birth Attendance) and includes the planning meeting, all materials, light refreshments, set up and pack up.
